Collection

Comprising over 4,500 works of art, OCMA’s permanent collection focuses on art produced during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries by artists with ties to California. Since its inception, OCMA’s collection has been at the core of its activities and efforts to present and preserve the most innovative and ground-breaking art being created in California. Over the past six decades the collection has grown into one of the most prominent and important in the region. The museum’s major holdings include early and mid-century modernism, Bay Area Figuration, assemblage, California Light and Space, Pop Art, Minimalism, and installation art.
